This role is ideal for an emerging construction professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to grow their management skills while contributing to meaningful, high-profile work.
For nearly 50 years, EverGreene has been a national leader in architectural restoration, conservation, and design - trusted to work on many of the most iconic and historically significant buildings in the United States. Our projects unite the worlds of art and construction, combining technical mastery with creative problem-solving to deliver outstanding results in complex, high-stakes environments. As a 100% employee-owned company, we don't just offer jobs - we offer the opportunity to build a meaningful career while preserving America's architectural legacy and contributing to work that endures.
Position Summary

On larger projects, you will serve as an essential project administrator; on smaller projects, you may take ownership of key tasks under a PM's guidance. This is a development-oriented role that offers exposure to EverGreene's unique blend of craftsmanship and construction management, while building the skills necessary for future promotion to Project Manager.
Core Responsibilities
Project Support & Coordination
  • Provide support to Project Managers and Senior Project Managers throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, from post-contract handoff through project closeout.
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and document control.
  • Coordinate materials, site access, and scheduling details with field teams and subcontractors.
  • Track budgets, cost-to-complete forecasts, and assist the Project Admin team with requisitions.
  • Help maintain project documentation, including project schedule, change orders, RFIs, scope changes and job budgeting support.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and assist in field coordination.
  • Lead planning and execution of smaller-scale or short-duration projects.
  • Communicate directly with clients, GCs, and field staff.
  • Identify project risks and escalate issues to the project team when needed.

Field Support & Communication
  • Serve as a day-to-day liaison between PMs, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Participate in planning and coordination meetings as needed
  • Assist with safety tracking, punch list generation, and progress monitoring
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and project partners, as directed

Small Project Leadership
  • Take lead responsibility for smaller or short-duration projects with PM/ Sr. PM oversight
  • Organize and track short-term schedules, materials, and logistics
  • Escalate risks or issues promptly and ensure appropriate team communication
  • Demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety and inclusivity by upholding best practices and fostering a diverse culture of mutual respect.

Career Path
Assistant Project Managers at EverGreene are expected to develop into Project Managers over time. As part of that progression, APMs may take the lead on smaller or short-duration projects under the supervision of a PM or Senior PM. This hands-on experience, combined with mentorship and increasing responsibilities, supports steady growth toward full project management roles.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in construction or adjacent field
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Historic Preservation, or a related field preferred

  • OSHA 30 required; SST (for NYC candidates) preferred. Can be obtained once hired.
  • Must be able to travel and assist in managing projects across multiple regions as needed.
