Installation Project ManagerAbout Empire & Co.

Location: Nationwide Travel (Approximately 90% Travel Required)

Position Summary

The Installation Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating commercial furniture installation projects at customer locations throughout the United States. This position serves as the company's on-site representative, ensuring installations are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications. The role will work closely with furniture installation partners, project management teams, administrative staff, and customers to ensure successful project execution and timely resolution of punch list items.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Travel extensively (approximately 90%) to customer sites across the United States.

  • Oversee and manage furniture installation activities from project start through completion.

  • Coordinate with third-party furniture installation companies and subcontractors.

  • Schedule and confirm installation dates with installers, customers, and project teams.

  • Work closely with the administrative and project management teams to verify all product has been received and is ready for installation.

  • Monitor installation progress and ensure work is completed according to project plans, quality standards, and customer requirements.

  • Conduct site inspections during and after installations.

  • Identify, document, and communicate any installation issues, damages, shortages, or project delays.

  • Develop and manage punch lists and ensure timely resolution of all outstanding items.

  • Take and submit detailed site photographs documenting installation progress, completed work, and punch items.

  • Prepare and submit daily reports, installation updates, and final completion reports.

  • Communicate project status and outstanding issues to the Head Project Manager.

  • Assist in training installation teams and company personnel as required.

  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, installation partners, and internal team members.

  • Ensure all safety guidelines and company policies are followed on job sites.

  • Support project closeout activities and customer sign-offs.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial furniture installation, field supervision, project coordination, or a related industry.

  • Experience managing installation crews and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong understanding of commercial furniture systems, installation processes, and project schedules.

  • Experience working directly with customers, contractors, and subcontractors.

  • Ability to read installation plans, floor plans, and project documentation.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, mobile reporting tools, and digital photography.

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs for extended periods.

  • Ability to use basic hand tools and installation equipment.

  • Ability to travel extensively and work flexible schedules, including occasional evenings and weekends when required.

Travel Requirements
  • Approximately 90% travel throughout the United States.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to travel by air and automobile as necessary to support project requirements.

  • Candidates are ideally based in the Central or Western United States to best support travel requirements; however, qualified candidates from other locations will be considered.

  • Flexibility to travel on short notice and work occasional evenings or weekends as project schedules require is essential.
