Location: Virginia Beach, VA (Bayside)

Department: Production & Logistics

Schedule: Full-Time, Saturday-Monday (6:00PM-6:00AM)

Clinical Status: Clinical

Important: You will be required to sit, stand, bend, walk and lift up to 50 lbs. for the duration of the shift; as well as wear personal protective equipment to include: surgical gowns, masks, visors or goggles and caps.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Processing Technician OB/Demin you'll play a vital role in advancing our mission. In this position, you'll be responsible for performing all aspects of processing, preservation and storage of tissues in an FDA regulated environment. Works in a team environment under aseptic conditions while performing controlled production processes. Performs quality assessments of tissue products and documentation. Each departmental processing technician position entails a level of complexity that varies based on physical demands, knowledge of human anatomy required, number of graft lines/product families processed, complexity of processes required for proficiency, number and types of equipment operated, degree of manual dexterity and fine motor skills required, and other special needs.

These roles are critical to the LifeNet Health mission because it is an important step in taking the donor's gifts and transitioning them to the lifesaving and health restoring allografts for patients around the globe.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Tissue Processing: Reviews work orders or processing instructions/scheduling prior to initiating production. Works with production supervisors to adjust plans as needed. Performs all aspects of processing tissue (debridement, dissection, cutting, cleaning and disinfection, sizing, assessing) according to current procedures and protocols. Assists supervisory team in production enhancement and improvement initiatives.
  • Packaging: Perform all aspects of packaging and preservation of tissue products (confirmation of sizing, quality, packaging materials, cryopreservation, etc.) according to current procedures and protocols.
  • Documentation & Data Entry: Document all processes and functions performed in accordance with all procedures and protocols.
  • Decontamination: Perform post-processing decontamination of equipment and the processing room according to current procedures and protocols.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School or GED required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
  • Zero years of work experience is required

Preferred Experience/Skills/Certifications:

  • Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) Certification preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • One (1) year Tissue Processing Experience preferred

  • Able to perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Able to convey information verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, Computer Software, Databases
  • Able to learn new skills, grafts, and adapt to developing product lines
  • Able to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time/workload
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Technical skills (preferred), General knowledge of anatomy, able to use surgical instrumentation and equipment

COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $20.00 / hourly

Final compensation will be based on factors such as geographic location, qualifications, and prior relevant experience. The pay range for this position is a flat rate of $20.00 hourly (entry level). Actual compensation may be higher based on the successful candidate's knowledge and relevant experience.
