Job Description:
Job Summary
Responsible for preparing histologic slides from tissue sections. Performs required duties to ensure accurate microscopic examination. Supports pathologists in diagnostic processes. Maintains quality and safety standards. Coordinates workflow to meet laboratory needs.
Essential Functions
• Prepares and processes human and animal tissue specimens for examination.
• Cuts, mounts, and stains tissue samples using routine histologic techniques.
• Assigns identification numbers to all pathology specimens.
• Prepares reagents, stains, and solutions for tissue processing.
• Maintains and updates process improvement programs, including monitoring logs and control data.
• Documents and reviews equipment and instrument maintenance records.
• Follows standards and safety procedures as outlined in manuals.
• Performs routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ensures compliance with quality and safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
Associate's degree
Experience Requirement
0-2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
