Job description

Our client, a pharmaceutical company, is looking for a Scientist to join their team! This will be a onsite role working out of their office in Ridgefield, Connecticut. The successful candidate will have a Master's or PhD, with experience in tissue processing, embedding, and staining.
Role Overview:
  • Contract Role: 12 months
  • Pay: $40.04/hr on W2
Responsibilities:
  • Execute high-quality tissue processing and embedding using both paraffin and frozen section techniques to ensure consistency.
  • Perform specialized staining methods, including histology, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF), to support research and imaging goals.
  • Troubleshoot and refine laboratory protocols to ensure reproducible, high-quality results while maintaining strict compliance and detailed documentation.
  • Partner with researchers to design experiments, analyze data, and interpret findings.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's or PhD in biology, biomedical sciences, or a related field is expected, though a Bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience will be considered..
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in tissue processing, embedding, and staining within a research or clinical laboratory setting.
  • Proficient in histological techniques (paraffin and cryosectioning) and specialized staining methods, including immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF).
  • Prior experience with skin or ocular tissues, HPLC, and 3D printing is highly preferred, alongside the ability to troubleshoot and optimize protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail for data analysis, coupled with excellent time-management, multitasking, and laboratory safety/compliance standard maintenance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to document procedures and work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team.
