We are hiring for a position as a Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient PAT (Pre-Admission Testing) clinic role.
Local Team Collaboration:
  • Join our well-established team at Methodist Hospitals of 8 physicians and 4 advanced practice providers (APPs), with the support of a clinical performance nurse, a clinical performance associate, and a group coordinator.
  • We are a diverse group of professionals with backgrounds from all over the world, an integral part of our hospital community, and a valued strategic partner, maintaining great relationships with hospital leadership and other physician groups.
  • Our team actively participates in committees and leadership roles to support quality and process improvement.
  • Outside of work, we come together for social events to celebrate special occasions and share common interests like food and sports.

Qualifications:
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner with at least 1 year of experience.

Scheduling:
  • Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm.
  • No Weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To evaluate the patient's current health, manage anesthesia risks, and optimize their condition for safe surgery.
  • A nurse practitioner reviews the medical history, conducts physical exams, and orders necessary tests.
  • Identify and manage medical conditions that may impact surgical outcomes and collaborate with specialists when needed.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to surgeons, the anesthesiology team, and primary care providers to coordinate care.
  • Results are reviewed by an anesthesiologist to plan for safe sedation.
