About this roleAssists with the technical production and stage managing of theatre events when needed. Maintains and operates all theatre equipment, provides for the security and safety of the people in the facility, and troubleshoots and performs minor repairs of standard theatrical lighting and sound equipment.
This role is an on-call position and is required to work a fluctuating schedule to include nights and weekends. Schedule is determined by theatre activities.Varies

Base Pay: $16.51. Offer amount based on College's Salary Schedule guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

(This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary)

  • Sets up and operate sound equipment such as public address systems and may install background music system as required.

  • Operates stage lighting equipment for play production in auditorium; rig lighting equipment by use of ladder as required.

  • Provides custodial duties such as but not limited to cleaning, dusting, and mopping floors of theatre stage area.

  • Sets-up flats, props, sound equipment and related stage items in accordance with the stage plot.

  • Unloads, unpacks, packs, and loads sound, lighting, and stage equipment.

  • Moves sets and equipment during performances.

  • Opens and closes curtain on queue.

  • Assists with set-up and operation of lighting, sound, and related stage equipment.

  • Maintains and performs in a safe workplace and follows established safety practices.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Some related experience

Knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar application

Skilled in:

  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management

Ability to:

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, and take responsibility for a high level of service

  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repair of theatre lighting and audio equipment

Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:

  • Regular physical attendance required
