Contract Duration: 3–4 months

Are you an experienced technical writer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-tech environment? Do you enjoy writing about innovative products and systems?

ProEdit has the opportunity for you.

We are seeking a contract technical writer to join our Project Services team for an onsite engagement with our client in Alpharetta, Georgia, near GA-400, Exit 12.

The primary responsibility of this role is to create clear, accurate, and accessible technical documents for the launch of the client’s system. This opportunity is well-suited for an organized, self-directed technical writer who is confident working with subject matter experts, including engineers, developers, and trainers, as well as nontechnical leaders and executive stakeholders.

The selected contractor will support documentation projects from kickoff through final delivery. Responsibilities will include gathering and organizing source information from SMEs, drafting and revising technical documents and manuals, coordinating stakeholder reviews, and preparing polished final deliverables.

Qualifications:
  • Five or more years of professional experience in technical writing or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex information into clear, concise, and user-friendly content.
  • Experience developing documentation from incomplete, evolving, or unorganized source material.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, including experience with templates, style guides, version control, and review processes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with a project team, the client, and subject matter experts.
  • Willingness to take a technical writing assessment.
  • Availability to work onsite in Alpharetta, Georgia, for the duration of the 3–4 month contract.

***Experience working in software development, technology, gaming, or another high-tech industry is a plus.
