Job description

Role Summary
This position involves full-cycle report development, focusing on meeting business needs through the creation of data reports and visualizations. The role requires collaboration with end users to gather requirements, design, develop, test, and deliver reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and related BI tools. The Database Report Writer will support the Information Systems department by analyzing data, creating MS-SQL objects, and troubleshooting reporting issues to ensure high-quality, timely data delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and implement reports aligned with business requirements using SSRS and SQL Server.
  • Collaborate with end users to translate business needs and user stories into effective reporting solutions.
  • Build reusable reports and report templates to streamline reporting processes.
  • Deliver scheduled management reports and ad hoc reports upon request.
  • Develop and modify MS-SQL objects such as tables, stored procedures, views, and functions to support reporting needs.
  • Analyze, optimize, and improve existing SQL queries for better performance and accuracy.
  • Conduct regular data quality checks to ensure reporting integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve report issues or anomalies reported by users with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Assist with user testing, documentation, and roll-out of reporting tools.
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational levels and with external vendors regarding report requirements, issues, and updates.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a SQL Report Server Developer utilizing SSRS tools.
  • Proficiency in MS SQL Server, T-SQL programming, and relational database management.
  • Strong understanding of SSRS report design and deployment in Visual Studio.
  • Experience constructing complex queries, data extraction, filtering, and aggregation techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Effective business writing and communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical reporting solutions.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and Access.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Publishing Pay Range: $40.00 - $43.00 Hourly
