Job description

Sterile Processing Technician (Contract)

Location: New York 14642
Pay Rate: $966 โ€“ $1,096
Schedule: Nights, 5x8-hour shifts (40 hrs/week)
Additional: Weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback as needed


Position Summary & Responsibilities
  • Decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and trays

  • Operate sterilization equipment (steam sterilizers, washers, HLD systems)

  • Perform quality assurance checks and maintain accurate documentation

  • Inspect instruments for cleanliness, function, and proper assembly

  • Manage inventory, stock supplies, and support OR and clinical units


Requirements
  • Certified Sterile Processing Technician (HSPA or CBSPD): Required

  • Minimum 3 years of Sterile Processing experience

  • BLS (AHA only): Required

  • Large hospital experience (500+ beds) required

  • Minimum 6 months travel experience required

  • Two professional references (from recent assignments) required


Preferred Qualifications
  • Level 1 Trauma Center experience

  • Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) certification

  • Orthopedic tray experience
