Job Description

This role is ideally suited to an individual who is passionate about IT and data and its application in the business environment in support of growth and efficiency. 

Creating logical and innovative solutions to complex business problems, with a heavy emphasis on SQL BI, the role encompasses all aspects of a project 

from initial briefing through final delivery and testing. It is suited to someone who is comfortable interfacing at all levels of the organization, providing 

great customer satisfaction while delivering first-class solutions. Ability to function effectively without close supervision.

 Main responsibilities

Designing and plan BI solutions

Debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting BI solutions

Writing relational and multidimensional database queries

Configuring, deploying and maintaining database servers

Design, develop and support ETL packages (SSIS) for data flow including SQL tables, views, functions, stored procedures, synonyms for BI use in an end-user reporting applications SSRS, Tableau and cubes feed as well as the DW.

Provide Tier 2 support for BI Platform through SSAS/Tableau

Work with all levels of development from analysis through implementation and support

Creating and deploying Data Marts to be consumed by reports and BI models

Resolve end user reporting problems

Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

B.S. degree in technical discipline

5+ years in general database development using MSSQL up through SQL 2005-2008/R2. Experience in Oracle is a plus

+2 years working with BI tools such as Tableau, Cognos or other relevant BI Solution a plus

Advanced level of writing stored procedures, reading query plans, tuning indexes and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks

+1 years C#/VB .Net

+3 years ETL experience, including SSIS or other ETL toolset in an enterprise environment

+3 years BI experience utilizing SSAS or other OLAP toolset.

+2 years experience with SSRS programming

Problem solving, analytical and communication abilities.

Challenge current thinking to provide new and improved ways of delivering information and performing business processes.

Proactively identify areas for improvement and evaluate viable alternative IT solutions to business problems using data in innovative ways.

Work closely with associates and departments at all levels of the business in identifying and resolving data related problems.

Maintain and ensure integrity of data in and assist with the administration of various databases.

Extensively test and document solutions to a high and consistent standard.

Leverage maximum benefit from existing systems
