Day to day as a Setup Associate

As a new Setup Associate at Barrett Petfood, you can expect a hands-on experience working directly with equipment, materials, and processes in our production environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include preparing machinery for production runs, ensuring that all setups are completed accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with team members to maintain a safe workspace while identifying any potential issues that may arise during the setup process. Your schedule will be Friday - Sunday, from 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM, allowing you to enjoy 4 days off while still contributing to our high-performance team. Embrace the challenge of mastering new skills while fostering a customer-focused mindset as you help us deliver quality pet food products.

  • Hang bulk totes & add hand adds into correct micro bins
  • Read blend sheets
  • Operate forklift for staging bagged ingredients
  • Verify Plex (internal ERP system) tickets onto pallets
  • Scan in/out materials and ingredients as they are used
  • Use Plex tickets to unlock micro bins and fill ingredients
  • Tag bags correctly with ingredient information
  • Use Plex to split, merge, update, and move containers.
  • Hang bulk bags using a forklift & tying off bulk bags
  • Clean as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
