Using excellent customer service and communications skills, your primary duties in this role include:
  • Accurately and thoroughly documents medical visits and procedures as the physician is performing them. This includes knowledge of specific shorthand and acronyms relating to the specialty.
  • Enters new patient intake information as necessary. Reviews patient history and notes prior to patient's visit and completes all notes at conclusion of patient appointment to ensure medical record is complete and accurate.
  • Makes necessary changes to patient history and medical records under the direction of the Physician.
  • Understands the operations within the medical department and assists with other duties within the department as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary:
Hiring range, based on experience and credentials: $18.65 - $25.23 per hour.
Workdays: This role is located at Machine Works Building. Free parking is available for employees! Typical hours are Monday-Friday (7:30 am-4:30 pm).
Qualifications that support success in this role are based on education, experience and values including:
  • Prior experience in a clinical environment is strongly preferred. Scribe and/or specialty care Dermatology experience is a plus!
  • Current or recent enrollment in a pre-med program and a desire to continue education in medicine are preferred.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications and EMR experience is preferred. EPIC Experience is a plus!
  • Strong medical terminology, medical guidelines, and practices, including legal responsibilities related to confidentiality.
  • Quick and accurate typing/data entry (85-90wpm minimum) and excellent writing skills (spelling proficiency).
  • Seeking individuals who can give at least a one-year commitment.
  • Ability to accurately document information while listening and observing patient encounters.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.
