Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care to residents and supervises nursing assistants to ensure high-quality care in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Key responsibilities include planning and overseeing daily nursing activities, administering medications, completing required documentation, and maintaining patient confidentiality. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift. Receive/give the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours. Make rounds with physicians as necessary.
  • Assist in all aspects of a resident’s daily life, including activities of daily living, meal service, and social engagement.
  • Appropriately communicate with clinical leadership when a resident’s needs change.
  • Know how to approach and care for residents with dementia.
  • Be willing to take on other duties and assignments within the scope of your knowledge and experience.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a current unencumbered state license.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing & medical practices & procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
  • Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
  • Willing to take additional training or education, which specific states may require.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable while handling multiple priorities.
