Job description

A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced Med Surg Oncology RN to support patient care in a dynamic hospital setting. This contract role is ideal for a Registered Nurse passionate about oncology and dedicated to delivering high-quality care to patients experiencing complex medical and surgical needs.
Schedule:

  • 13-week contract assignment
  • Full-time: 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Shifts: Choose from 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour blocks, with both days and nights available
  • No on-call requirement; weekends and holidays included
Qualifications:
  • Active RN license required; BSN strongly preferred
  • Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications required
  • Hold a valid Florida State RN license or have an eligible compact state license
  • A minimum of 2 years' Med Surg Oncology RN experience is preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to oncology and medical-surgical patients in accordance with best practices and evidence-based protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage, monitor, and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Administer chemotherapy and monitor for side effects, as well as support patients and families through the treatment process
  • Provide patient education concerning disease processes, medications, and post-discharge care
  • Accurately document all aspects of patient care in the electronic medical record system, maintaining a high standard of documentation and compliance
