We are seeking a dedicated Hospice Registered Nurse to provide weekend hospice care for patients in King County and South Snohomish. Care is delivered across a variety of settings, including private homes, adult family homes, assisted living communities, and skilled nursing facilities. This position includes weekend responsibilities to ensure essential care and support for patients and families. The RN will focus on responding to urgent or emergency needs, managing symptoms, and promoting the comfort and well-being of patients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality hospice care, focusing on pain and symptom management for patients.
  • Respond promptly to urgent calls, assess situations, and deliver appropriate interventions as needed.
  • Administer and adjust medications while monitoring effectiveness to ensure patient comfort.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity and address urgent patient needs.
  • Support, educate, and guide families, offering reassurance throughout the patient’s care journey.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care, assessments, and interventions.
  • Manage emergencies and coordinate with the on-call team for additional support when necessary.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospice care protocols.
Requirements:


  • Current, active Washington State RN license in good standing
  • Active BLS certification
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Minimum 1 year nursing experience in hospice or home health preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years of healthcare related experience required
  • Proficient with EMR systems and healthcare technologies
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, initiative, and work independently within scope of practice
  • Adaptable to diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds
