In this role, you will be instrumental in providing therapeutic interventions, crisis management, and advocacy for clients navigating their recovery journey.

About the Organization

Palm Health Medical Center is committed to providing high-quality care and comprehensive support to vulnerable populations in Lowell, Massachusetts. Our organization operates with a strong emphasis on social justice and community collaboration. We specialize in various social services, including case management, counseling, crisis intervention, and outreach, aimed at addressing pressing issues such as homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse, and poverty. Our holistic approach integrates advocacy and mental health support, ensuring that we tackle the root causes of these challenges to foster lasting change.

Work Environment

As a remote position, you will enjoy the flexibility of working from home while collaborating with a diverse team of professionals dedicated to supporting clients in a detox center setting. Regular business hours are expected, with occasional evenings and weekends required based on client needs and program activities. This role blends the convenience of remote work with thorough engagement in community outreach and direct client interaction, creating a balanced work-life approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' social, emotional, and environmental challenges to establish a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans that outline specific goals and interventions, maintaining continuous progress monitoring.
  • Provide counseling services and emotional support to individuals and families facing significant life challenges, particularly those related to substance use disorders.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to connect them to essential community resources and services that promote their recovery and well-being.
  • Engage in crisis intervention strategies, performing risk assessments and safety planning when necessary to ensure client safety.
  • Network with community agencies and organizations to coordinate service delivery and advocate effectively for client needs.
  • Participate in community outreach efforts to enhance awareness of our agency's services and the support available to the community.
  • Contribute to team discussions and case conferences, ensuring a collaborative and informed approach to client care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role will be on individuals seeking support and treatment within our detox center. These clients may be grappling with substance use disorders and the accompanying social challenges that often hinder their recovery journey, such as mental health issues, trauma, and family dynamics. Your expertise will empower them to navigate their circumstances, find strength in recovery, and build a pathway to healthier lifestyles.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
  • An active state license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
  • Proficiency in social and economic justice issues, along with a strong understanding of community resources and trauma-informed care principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clients from diverse backgrounds effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, demonstrating cultural competence and empathy in all interactions.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working in a social service agency, particularly in roles focused on substance abuse treatment or mental health.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices and methodologies relevant to clinical social work in a detox environment.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and risk assessment.
Compensation and Benefits

Palm Health Medical Center offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Generous paid time off, including vacation, personal days, and recognized holidays.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and training to support your professional development and enhance your skills.
  • Insurance coverage options, ensuring peace of mind for employees and their families.
  • Sign-on bonus available for new hires to support their transition into our organization.
