Work Environment

This role is entirely remote, providing counselors the flexibility to work from their own homes in East Lansing, Michigan, or anywhere in the state. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual counseling sessions via teletherapy platforms, focusing on improving clients' mental health through evidence-based interventions.
• Foster open dialogue with clients, encouraging them to share emotions and experiences that contribute to their mental well-being.
• Serve as an advocate for clients, helping define personalized goals that align with their therapeutic needs.
• Perform thorough evaluations of clients’ mental health conditions and develop tailored treatment plans using a solution-based approach.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals when necessary to provide comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with privacy regulations while minimizing administrative tasks through our support systems.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our client base consists primarily of stable adults experiencing low-acuity mental health concerns. Each client is prescreened to ensure they are suitable for teletherapy, alleviating concerns over crisis management. Counselors will work with clients whose needs align with their expertise and preferences for specific demographic groups.

Qualifications

• A completed Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW).
• Candidates must hold a valid clinical license to practice independently, specifically a Master Social Worker - Clinical Specialty (MSW - Clinical).
• No limited or provisional licenses will be accepted; candidates must be able to provide direct therapeutic services without supervision.
• Ability to conduct thorough professional evaluations and make informed treatment recommendations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a client-centered, empathetic approach to counseling.
• Proficient in computer use and comfortable with telehealth platforms.

Preferred Experience

• Two or more years of experience in a clinical setting, with a focus on therapeutic interventions.
• Experience with digital documentation and telehealth methodologies.
