Hours may vary depending on department needs.
The Radiology Technologist I performs diagnostic X-ray exams (based on department needs) under the direction of a radiologist. The Radiology Technologist I provides compassionate direct patient care with an emphasis on maintaining organizational values and standards of behavior. The Radiology Technologist I operates diagnostic X-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images of designated portions of the body. Where applicable, the Radiology Technologist I is required to participate in an on-call rotation outside of business hours based on department needs and must be able to work some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Completes a variety of high quality, patient-centered diagnostic X-ray
    exams on all age ranges (neonatal - elderly) and in varying locations
    throughout the hospital (based on department needs) in accordance with
    established policies, procedures, and standards of care.
    • Performs quality control (QC) procedures in compliance with
    manufacturer and regulatory requirements independently, ensuring
    proper functioning of equipment and image quality.
    • Troubleshoots equipment issues and errors and reports safety concerns
    and malfunctions promptly.
    • Cleans departmental equipment and verifies all safety/health regulations
    and policies are met.
    • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of organ/bone/vasculature cross
    sectional anatomy.
    • Assists in the training and clinical instruction of students.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Graduation of Radiology program accredited through the American Registry of Radiologic Technology approved by IDPH required.
Experience:
  • None.
License(s)/Certification(s):
  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons required.
  • American Registry of Radiology Technologist required.
  • Iowa Department of Health Permit to Practice required.
  • Current CPR/BCLS certification or obtained within 30 days for new hire.
