Job Summary and Qualifications

A Radiology Technician (Radiologic Technologist) performs diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays, using ionizing radiation while ensuring patient safety (ALARA standards).


Key Responsibilities


  • Imaging & Procedures: Perform X-rays, fluoroscopy, and other diagnostic images while applying ionizing radiation safety protocols (ALARA).


  • Patient Care: Prepare, transfer, and position patients, ensuring modesty and comfort.


  • Equipment Management :Operate, calibrate, and maintain imaging equipment, including Computed Radiology (CR) units and ensuring proper shielding.


  • Technical Proficiency: Select appropriate exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images.


  • Documentation: Accurately update patient records and clinical history in systems like MEDITECH.

What qualifications you will need:

Qualifications


  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

  • Min 1 year exp required


  • Certification: Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.


  • Licensure: State-specific license (e.g., Florida Department of Health CRT licensure).


  • Basic Life Support (BLS):American Heart Association BLS certification required.


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions


  • Frequent standing, walking, and bending.


  • Must be able to assist in lifting and transferring patients.


  • May require working evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
