What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Weekend Proofreader, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Weekend Proofreader, you need excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills, often supported by a degree in English, journalism, or a related field. Familiarity with style guides (such as AP or Chicago Manual of Style) and proficiency in editing software like Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat are typically required. These skills ensure that written materials are error-free and meet quality standards, even within tight weekend deadlines.
