Job description

Job purpose

The Production Supervisor – Solenoid Division is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Solenoid production department to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery. This position provides leadership to production personnel, coordinates workflow, monitors production performance, and ensures compliance with company policies, quality standards, and OSHA and EPA regulations. The Production Supervisor is committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, employee development, and operational excellence.


Essential Duties and responsibilities

· Perform quality control inspections, testing, and maintain accurate production records and reports.

· Assist in developing and implementing strategies to improve team performance and achieve production goals.

· Ship coils and complete other shipping and production-related duties as assigned.

· Maintain and update quality management systems and documentation.

· Conduct internal quality audits as requested.

· Operate and demonstrate proficiency with precision measuring instruments and production equipment.

· Monitor inventory levels and communicate material needs.

· Provide clear direction, guidance, and work instructions to production team members.

· Coordinate and oversee daily production activities to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met.

· Prepare and distribute production and performance reports to management.

· Train, mentor, and support new employees on company procedures, quality expectations, and safety practices.

· Ensure the solenoid shop remains clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA, EPA, and company safety regulations.

· Promote a safe work environment and support continuous process improvements.

· Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certification preferred.

· Three to five years of manufacturing experience, with previous supervisory experience preferred.

· Experience in electromechanical assembly, solenoid manufacturing, or a related manufacturing environment is preferred.

· Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.

· Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.

· Ability to analyze production metrics and implement performance improvements.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

· Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety practices, and environmental compliance requirements.

· Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.· Friendly, professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills.


Physical Demands and Work Environment

· Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday; overtime, weekends, and occasional off-shift work may be required based on production demands.

· Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing/production environment.

· Frequent exposure to machinery, noise, moving mechanical equipment, and varying temperatures typical of an industrial facility.


Physical Requirement

· Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the workday.

· Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods as required.

· Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment and precision measuring instruments.

· Ability to move throughout the Solenoid Division production area to monitor operations, support employees, and respond to production needs.
