Overview

Nakupuna Solutions is seeking a Senior PowerApps / Power Platform Developer to support the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) G6. This position will focus on designing, developing, maintaining, and improving business applications using Microsoft Power Apps and the broader Microsoft Power Platform.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-oriented developer who can work directly with Government stakeholders, understand operational challenges, and translate business needs into practical, scalable application solutions. This role requires someone who is comfortable working independently, asking thoughtful questions, identifying opportunities for improvement, and thinking creatively to solve problems within a secure DoD enterprise environment.

The Senior PowerApps / Power Platform Developer will support DEVCOM's digital transformation efforts by developing user-friendly applications, automating business processes, improving data visibility, and supporting collaboration across the Command. The position requires strong technical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to balance customer needs, governance requirements, cybersecurity expectations, and long-term maintainability.

This position supports operations that may require access to classified systems and information.

Responsibilities

The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Microsoft Power Apps solutions, with a primary focus on canvas apps and model-driven applications that address operational business needs.
  • Design and automate business processes using Power Automate, including workflows, approvals, notifications, integrations, and data movement across Microsoft 365 services.
  • Work directly with Government stakeholders, leadership, and subject matter experts to gather requirements, understand pain points, and translate business needs into effective low-code application solutions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing processes, reduce manual work, increase data visibility, and enhance user experience through Power Platform solutions.
  • Develop solutions that integrate with SharePoint, Dataverse, Microsoft Lists, Power BI, and other Microsoft 365 or enterprise data sources.
  • Build and maintain structured data repositories, forms, workflows, dashboards, and reporting capabilities that support DEVCOM data governance and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Create intuitive, reliable, and maintainable Power Apps with strong attention to usability, performance, permissions, data integrity, and long-term sustainment.
  • Analyze existing applications, workflows, and SharePoint-based processes to recommend improvements, modernization approaches, or replacement with more efficient enterprise solutions.
  • Configure and support SharePoint Online and/or on-premises sites, lists, libraries, permissions structures, content types, and related collaboration features as needed to support application development.
  • Implement role-based access controls, permissions structures, and security considerations in coordination with cybersecurity, governance, and Government stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, test, and optimize Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, SharePoint solutions, and related low-code applications.
  • Support Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions that provide leadership and stakeholders with actionable data and improved visibility into business processes.
  • Develop and maintain technical and user-facing documentation, including requirements documentation, user guides, administrator guides, implementation plans, run books, and knowledge articles.
  • Participate in customer synchronization meetings, technical discussions, demonstrations, and solution review sessions related to Power Platform and SharePoint initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations and technical analysis for low-code application design, sustainment, governance, and future modernization opportunities.
  • Develop briefings, status updates, and presentations for Government leadership on Power Platform solutions, application progress, risks, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Provide weekly activity reporting detailing completed tasks, ongoing initiatives, issues, risks, and planned activities.
  • Ensure solutions align with applicable DoD, Army, cybersecurity, data governance, and enterprise IT policies, including relevant DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides where applicable.
  • Stay current with Microsoft Power Platform capabilities, emerging features, best practices, and opportunities to apply new tools in practical ways for the customer.
  • Work with minimal supervision in an Agile or iterative environment, adapting to changing requirements while maintaining focus on mission outcomes and user needs.
