Job description

Position Purpose:
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for generating accurate and timely payrolls for personnel. This role ensures payroll processing complies with all applicable laws and organizational policies while maintaining confidential payroll records. The Payroll Administrator administers taxes, benefits, and other deductions, resolves payroll discrepancies, and collaborates with HR and Finance to support accurate reporting and employee inquiries.
Essential Functions:
  • Process and generate accurate and timely weekly payroll across multiple locations and pay types.
  • Record, review, and validate hours worked using the timekeeping system, including overtime, shift differentials, premium pay, etc.
  • Maintain and update payroll system data, including, but not limited to, direct deposits, garnishments, employee tax information, and general deductions such as 401(k) loans and charitable contributions.
  • Administer payroll taxes, benefits, and other deductions, ensuring proper accounting for federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Prepare and analyze fringe benefit expense calculations for eligible employees.
  • Verify benefit eligibility and coordinate closely with Human Resources to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential payroll records.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee and management payroll inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Finance to support accurate payroll processing, reporting, and audits.
  • Process payroll adjustments, corrections, and off-cycle payments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Training
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An associate's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years of payroll processing experience is required, preferably within ADP.
  • Experience supporting a multi-location environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations is essential.
  • Experience using a timekeeping system is a must, preferably UKG/Kronos.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products is a must.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential information is required.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities is essential.
  • Effective communication skills to convey and respond to payroll related topics is necessary.
