Together with neighbouring Lewiston, the area provides a wide range of restaurants, shopping, healthcare, education, and cultural amenities while maintaining a welcoming community atmosphere. It also offers convenient access to I-95, with Portland and the Maine coast within easy reach for restaurants, entertainment, flights, and weekend trips.

Outdoor enthusiasts have plenty to explore, from the trails at Mount Apatite to nearby lakes, rivers, and state parks offering hiking, fishing, kayaking, swimming, and year-round recreation.
