Job description

Position: Inspector Packer
Location: Hayward, CA
Reports to: Production Supervisor
The Role:
The Inspector Packer will report to the production supervisor and will be responsible for hand packing a variety of different products by hand in a quick and safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in fast-paced environments. He/she must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line. The successful candidate for this position takes pride in his/her hands-on and analytical abilities, organization skills, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates closely with other departments and teams
Ability to work at a fast pace
Hand packing a wide variety of products and materials
Removing product from the line and visually inspecting to assure quality standards
Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
Perform all duties as designated by supervisor/manager.
Perform all duties in support of Sonoco's quality and safety policies.
Helping out other departments as needed
Requirements:
Possess a "get it done" attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must have working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements.
Must be reliable, have good initiative, be committed, and be quality focused.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
Ability to work with a team and in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
Ability to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time.
Must have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
No prior manufacturing experience required.
