We are seeking a dedicated and skilled OSP Field Operations Technician specialized in fiber optics to join our team. As an OSP Field Operations Technician at Ezee Fiber, you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining our high-performance fiber optic network. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in FTTH installation and fiber construction/pulling/splicing, who are passionate about technology, enjoy working outdoors, and are eager to grow their technical skills in a fast-paced environment.
 


• Assist with the installation, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cables.
• Support maintenance and repair activities for fiber optic infrastructure.
• Conduct basic site surveys and report findings to senior technicians or engineers.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as fusion splicers and OTDRs.
• Follow safety protocols and industry standards during all field operations.
• Document work performed, including installation details and service outcomes.
• Respond to service calls and assist with emergency repairs as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.
• Participate in training programs to develop technical competencies and stay current with industry trends.
 


Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in fiber optics are a plus. Minimum of six (6) months to two (2) years of experience or training in fiber splicing and troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of fiber optic systems and network infrastructure.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The field and environmental requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.  While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or wind.  Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds as needed. Tolerate exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and uneven or slippery surfaces. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) during all applicable tasks.  


Standard daily travel to assigned territories is required for this position (up to 30% of the time within a 10-mile radius)
