Overview
POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
This Supervisor, Maintenance position supervises maintenance personnel, equipment repair, and facility services for the manufacturing facility. This position assists the Sr. Manager, Facility and Production Maintenance in developing and implementing departmental goals, timelines, preventative maintenance programs, and safety and quality programs as it relates to equipment and production efficiency.
In this role, you will have the autonomy to shape a high-performing team and make meaningful decisions that directly impact production efficiency and facility excellence. You will be a visible leader whose contributions are recognized across the organization.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
As a Supervisor, Maintenance, you will be at the center of our facility's operational success. Every day brings new challenges and meaningful work:
  • Supervise the personnel, the facility and the equipment in a cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) environment with multiple sites & shifts.
  • Adhere to and monitor department budget and assist in the selection of capital expenditures to ensure a cost-efficient operation.
  • Maintain, monitor and recommend adequate spare parts to support operations.
  • Ensure staff is properly trained and competent in all the technical aspects of their positions.
  • Actively promote and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Support and maintain a PM/WO (Preventative Maintenance/Work Order) program for both facilities and equipment in multi-site environment.
  • Establish staffing and distribute workload as to deliver maximum results.
  • Develop direct reports, through hands on coaching and training.
  • Maintain open communication with direct reports on work and results across all shifts.
  • Communicate company and departmental goals and objectives assuring that these are clearly understood.
  • Complete and maintain all necessary documentation including applicable cGMP documents.
  • Interact with Production, Quality, and Planning groups daily to assure production schedules are met or exceeded.
  • Support company and department's long-term growth and success.
  • Assist the Validation Engineer with the implementation of IQ/OQ (Installation Qualification/Operation Qualification) for equipment installation.
  • Perform mid-year and year-end performance evaluations for direct reports across all shifts.
  • Perform One on One's monthly reviews with personnel.
  • Administer and provide Corrective Action to direct reports as required by company policies.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, Holidays, and weekends as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will build a cohesive culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across all shifts - and your leadership style will set the tone for the entire department.
Manage Maintenance Mechanics that cover three shifts and will have up to 5 direct reports
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:
  • Display and possess exceptional mechanical & electrical proficiency
  • Strong troubleshooting ability
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organization and analytical skills
  • Understand PLC functionality
  • Strong coaching and development skills
  • Proven experience building and leading teams and developing personnel
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 30lbs

Experience:
  • 5-7 years of maintenance experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a Maintenance Supervisor role in a cGMP or food manufacturing/processing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel a fast-past, results-driven environment.
  • Formal PLC training.

Education:
  • 2-year technical degree from accredited institution or equivalent in experience (maintenance experience must be 7-9 years in lieu of degree).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS in an Engineering discipline.
