Packing Operator

Pay: $29.00per hour plusShift Differential:$1.00 per hour

Shift & Working Hours:Monday-Friday; 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM; Weekends/Overtime as needed.

ThePacker Operatormust accurately fill the appropriate bag with the corresponding product as a final production process for bagged product within the guidelines of Feed Quality Management System (FQMS). The packer operator must abide by the specified bag weight tolerance levels, identify poor quality product and stop it from reaching the customer, and work in a consistent manner to achieve production rates. The individual must follow established housekeeping guidelines and properly remove trash acquired during their shift.
This role is part of our Purina Animal Nutrition business who serves producers and animal owners throughout the United States. We innovate nutritional products and practices that unlock the full potential of every animal for a healthier, more productive life.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanically inclined individual who can help troubleshoot their system

Individual must accurately complete all documents for in-house use and federal regulations

Complies with all safety processes and insists on safety practices of self and others
Shows up on time, completes tasks by deadlines, and adapts to changes quickly
Able to multi-task and keep up with production demands in a fast-paced environment
Ensures all quality standards and standard operating procedures are followed during production process
Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area
Collaborates and follows the instructions of Leads and Management to accomplish daily work assignments
Required Experience and Skills:
Must be 18 years or older
1 year or more of work experience in any industry
Basic computer and math skills
Able to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions in English
Willingness to learn new skills, problem-solve and troubleshoot
Strong collaboration, communication skills, and is always respectful
Preferred Experience:
1+ year of manufacturing work experience
Machine operation and/or forklift experience
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements
Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment
Working in temperature zones that include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods and may include areas where dust and chemicals are present
