Job description

Job Title: District Operations Manager

Job Family: Management

Reports to: Director of Operations

Supervises: 4+ locations, 40-60 Sales Associates and 4+ Store Managers

JOB OVERVIEW:

We're not just in the tanning business; we're in the confidence business. At Beaches Tanning Center, we help our clients feel amazing in their skin. We have 12 locations with more planned openings for this year driven by a team of passionate, energetic people. We've built a brand based on positivity, style, and a little bit of sparkle. We are now looking for our next District Manager to oversee staff, provide training, establish sales goals, and enhance profitability in their designated area. The right person will be well-organized; results driven and will work closely with the Director of Operations and other department leaders to reach shared company objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSales and Operations Management:
  • Follow directives from the Director of Operations and Director of Sales and Marketing to drive overall company goals.
  • Travel to stores via assigned company vehicle.
  • Analyze and present monthly growth strategies and sales outcomes to the Director of Sales.
  • Audit past sales transactions to identify and correct any improper sales techniques to ensure accuracy and enhance employee success.
  • Review store schedules to ensure labor hours are met and coverage is adequate to meet service levels.
  • Verify that store managers have reviewed and submitted payroll accurately and on time.
  • Accurately compile and submit monthly commission and incentive information to payroll.
  • Participate in 2 store meetings per month.
  • Stay informed of maintenance issues in stores and follow up with maintenance team as needed to minimize equipment down time.
  • Make sure company cleanliness standards are met.
  • Professionally and promptly report employee issues and conflicts to the Director of Operations and/or HR Manager.
  • Coordinate with the HR Manager for all employee terminations.
Leadership and Team Development:
  • Develop robust management teams that will guide, supervise, and support store staff to achieve sales goals by following established training methods.
  • Collaborate with store management to identify staff members with strong leadership potential and the desire to grow with the company.
  • Organize competitions, games, and engaging activities to promote team cohesion.
Customer Service and Marketing:
  • Collaborate with customer service to support all company customer service standards.
  • Partner with customer service to prevent and/or address issues with required compliance documentation and point of sale and procedures.
  • Support all approved product promotions and marketing campaigns regarding store signage and social media.
General Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in math, written, and verbal communication.
  • Adaptability and flexibility with quickly changing circumstances.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Thorough understanding of company policies, goals, and standards.
  • Ability to delegate effectively.
  • Project management skills and follow-through.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma/ GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or related field preferred; or 4+ years of related industry or retail experience.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience, or at least 1 year of Beaches management experience.
  • Preferred: 6+ months of managing multiple retail sites and a history of revenue increases.
  • Flexibility to work a 40-hour week, including possible nights, weekends, and travel. While training new staff, there may be occasions where more than 40 hours are needed temporarily.
