Description

We are seeking an energetic and hands-on Operations Manager to support evening hotel operations at the Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Downtown/Gaslamp Quarter. This position directly oversees operations for Toasted Barrel while supporting overall hotel operations as the Manager on Duty for the property.


The ideal candidate is a motivated hospitality leader who is passionate about food and beverage, guest experience, team development, and delivering elevated service standards across all areas of the hotel.


This position primarily works evening shifts and requires weekends and holidays based on business needs.


Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Oversee daily food and beverage operations to ensure service standards, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction 
  • Support overall evening hotel operations while serving as Manager on Duty for the property 
  • Maintain a visible and active presence throughout the hotel and outlet to support team members and deliver an elevated guest experience 
  • Drive food and beverage revenue through promotions, menu development, package offerings, and sales-driven initiatives designed to increase outlet performance 
  • Oversee food and beverage operations for meetings and events within the hotel's meeting space 
  • Monitor inventory levels, ordering, vendor relationships, and cost control initiatives 
  • Assist in developing and achieving departmental financial goals, budgets, and labor targets 
  • Identify revenue opportunities, operational improvements, and potential challenges 
  • Lead, coach, and develop the food & beverage team while fostering a positive, accountable, and guest-focused culture 
  • Ensure team members are properly trained on service standards, operational procedures, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and health code compliance 
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, safety, and food & beverage quality throughout the outlet and hotel 
  • Support front desk and guest service operations as needed to ensure overall guest satisfaction and smooth hotel operations
     

Job Qualifications

  • Previous hotel operations experience required; food and beverage leadership experience preferred
  • Experience overseeing restaurant, bar, and/or meeting and event operations preferred
  • Ability to operate hotel POS and PMS systems
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and leadership skills
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve operational and guest service issues as needed
  • Ability to work well in stressful situations while maintaining professionalism and service standards
  • Readily available and approachable for guests and team members while providing excellent guest service
