Job description

We’re looking for a dependable Operations Manager to lead hydro excavation and sanitation field operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role provides hands-on leadership by overseeing field teams, coordinating resources, and maintaining strong customer relationships while driving operational performance.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct routine job site visits to oversee hydro excavation and sanitation operations while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity expectations are achieved.
  • Enforce company policies, OSHA standards, DOT regulations, and all safety observation and compliance programs.
  • Coordinate daily, weekend, and emergency work schedules with Division and Branch leadership to meet customer demands.
  • Collaborate with operations, logistics, maintenance, and training teams to ensure proper staffing, equipment readiness, and successful project execution.
  • Monitor field performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions that increase efficiency and control operating costs.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing responsive communication and resolving operational concerns promptly.
  • Oversee field equipment utilization, coordinate preventive maintenance, and address operational issues to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain high housekeeping and organization standards across job sites, vehicles, and operational facilities.
  • Lead safety meetings, operational reviews, and toolbox talks while reinforcing company expectations and best practices.
  • Complete required administrative responsibilities, including operational reports, safety documentation, training records, and performance tracking.
  • Partner with Division and Branch Managers by providing operational updates, workforce recommendations, and field performance insights.
  • Make timely field-based decisions that support safe operations, customer satisfaction, and uninterrupted workflow.

 

What You'll Need

  • 5–10 years of experience leading field operations, industrial services, construction crews, or related operational teams.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between customer locations and job sites as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, and safety compliance within industrial or field operations.
  • Proven leadership experience developing, coaching, and motivating employees while fostering a positive safety culture.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, leadership, and customers.
  • Ability to work extended or non-traditional schedules, including weekends, and perform field duties that include standing or walking for 8–12-hour shifts, lifting 25–50 pounds, climbing on and off equipment, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and wearing required PPE.
