Registered Nurses at EYE-Q are perioperative nurses. Perioperative nurses help plan, carry out, and assess treatment for patients undergoing surgery. Our biggest need at the moment someone who can help patients during surgery (OR).


ABOUT EYE-Q

Our team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and professional support staff handle all aspects of eye/vision care, from general exams to complex surgeries. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about providing excellent care to our patients while treating fellow coworkers with dignity and respect.


PERIOPERATIVE NURSE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Makes pre-op phone calls to patients to review health history including medications, allergies (Pre-Op Call Nurse)
  • Reviews specific instructions for what patients need to do prior to surgery (Pre-Op Call Nurse)
  • Assesses, consents, and prepares patients on the first day of surgeries for the surgical encounter (Pre-Op Nurse)
  • Chooses and handles instruments and supplies used during surgery (Scrub Nurse)
  • Develops patient care plans, reviews preoperative assessments with patients, and manages activities in the operating room (Circulating Nurse)
  • Serves everyone involved in a surgical procedure (Circulating Nurse)
  • Cares for patients immediately after surgical procedures and anesthesia (PACU Nurse)
  • Makes patient phone calls to review pertinent past medical history, requests information from outside providers, and synthesizes information while using appropriate nursing judgement (Nurse Evaluator)

SCHEDULE:

Monday-Thursday 10-hour shifts

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in California with the board of Registered Nursing (RN)
  • Two-years RN experience and one-year OR experience
  • Ophthalmic/plastics surgery experience (preferred)
