TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified Cardiac Stepdown RN in Greenville, South Carolina, 29605!

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite | Every other weekend required; weekend schedule subject to change based on need

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a Cardiac Stepdown unit for patients with diagnoses including CAD s/p CABG, cardiac valve repair, lung cancer s/p VATS, and esophageal cancer
  • Monitor and manage post-surgical cardiovascular patients, including those requiring cardiac drips and insulin drips
  • Administer and reconcile medications using the Omnicell medication system
  • Interpret and respond to EKG findings; must pass a pre-start EKG competency exam
  • Float to other units or campuses as needed based on census, performing only tasks within demonstrated and documented competencies
  • Complete required pre-assignment modules and annual modules as directed
Required Qualifications
  • Active South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Cardiac Stepdown or equivalent unit (3 years within specialty required for first-time travelers)
  • Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
  • Experience with cardiac drips and insulin drip management
  • Must pass pre-start EKG competency exam
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • 2 or more years of overall RN experience in the field
  • Experience caring for post-surgical cardiovascular patients
  • Familiarity with Omnicell medication management systems
