Part Time - Saturday & Sunday
Pay Rate: $17.70 per hour
Location: Hub of Hope 1431 S. John F. Kennedy Blvd., Philadelphia, Pa. 19102
What to expect in this role:
The receptionist is responsible for orienting program participants to the services that we provide at the Hub of Hope by answering questions about our services and making referrals. Other duties include answering incoming phone calls, taking messages, monitoring security cameras, and assisting with shelter transports at the end of the day.
What you will do in this role:
Customer Service
  • Maintain a courteous and welcoming presence at the reception desk at all times.
  • Become acquainted with individuals who frequent the Hub of Hope in order to improve our customer service.
Clerical Duties
  • Answer and transfer incoming calls and take messages.
  • Accept and distribute donations. Provide donation receipts as necessary
  • Maintain electronic sign-up sheets for showers, laundry and resource coordination appointments in Excel.
  • Complete data entry into Webfocus, HMIS, etc. as required. (Training to be provided)
  • Maintain a shelter transport list and direct participants to shelter transports at the end of each day.
Safety
  • Remain aware of foot traffic into and out of the building.
Monitor security cameras and notify appropriate personnel if concerns arise.
  • Maintain situational awareness at all times to prevent or quickly respond to incidents or crises that may occur.
What you will bring to this role:
  • 1-3 years of performing clerical duties in a social services setting.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent listening, communication, and de-escalation skills
  • Ability to deal with resistance effectively.
  • Knowledge of best practices in trauma-informed care
  • Knowledge of the Philadelphia homeless provider network and social services system.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to move to or remain sedentary for periods of time in various locations
