Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation located in Dutchess County is seeking a front desk Receptionist. The receptionist will be responsible for greeting clients and visitors to our office. As our receptionist, you will be in charge of giving clients directions to various parts of the office, contacting employees regarding visitors, answering phones and taking messages, and sorting and distributing mail. To be successful in this role, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as competency in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel.

-This position is for Weekends Only_

Receptionist Responsibilities:

  • Operates the multi-lined phones to answer incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate person or department and properly records messages as required.
  • Performs clerical work and maintenance of inventory;
  • Serves as Emergency Response Team in the event of a fire or disaster. Calls 911 to give specific location and nature of the event, handles incoming calls, and follows direction of Response Team.
  • Shows compassion, patience, and empathy towards residents and their needs. Has extensive interactions with residents and staff.
  • Assists residents with resident funds, as requested.
  • Communicates any emergencies clearly and timely with maintenance staff.
  • Is familiar with the copy machine/ fax/ scanner.
  • Keeps a record of residents going away, as well as residents in the hospital or health care center.
  • Understands and practices HIPAA.
  • Communicates effectively
  • Maintains regular attendance and professional appearance and attitude at all times

Receptionist Requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Competency in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word and Excel.

• Prior experience as a receptionist or in related field is preferred.
