This is a part time position, approximately 10–15 hours a week. Hours depend on the nature of client requests.

The Ladder Method is a boutique academic coaching company serving families across Los Angeles. We focus on both academic excellence and long-term student growth, providing highly personalized, in-person support. We don't just teach people a subject, we teach people how to learn and thrive!

We are looking for exceptional, experienced math tutors and academic coaches to join our Education team. This role is best suited for individuals who combine strong subject mastery with professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work with highly engaged families.

We are specifically seeking tutors with strong proficiency in:

Math

  • Algebra I
  • Algebra II
  • Geometry
  • Precalculus
  • Trigonometry
  • Calculus AB and/or BC
  • Statistics

(Additional science subject experience is a plus)

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Anatomy
  • Geology
  • Physiology
  • Psychology

We are looking for individuals to work in-person in West LA, including:

  • Santa Monica
  • Brentwood
  • Pacific Palisades
  • Venice
  • Marina del Rey

We are currently hiring for both immediate placement and the upcoming school year.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher required
  • Strong academic background in Math, Physics, Chemistry or related field
  • Prior tutoring or teaching experience required
  • Experience working with high-net-worth families strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with LA independent schools highly desired
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional, polished, and highly reliable
  • Driver's license and reliable transportation required
  • Available for weekday afternoons/evenings and at least one weekend day (preferably Sunday)
  • Available for approximately 10–15 hours per week

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $40-65 per hour (based on experience and education)
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Aflac after one year
  • 401(k) after one year with the company

Compensation is for in-person tutoring and is determined by experience, subject expertise, and education.
