Continental Dairy Facilities is Select Milk Producer's first state-of-the-art powder milk and butter facility that produces over 300,000 pounds of dry non-fat milk per day in Coopersville, Michigan. POSITION LOCATION

Coopersville, Michigan

SCHEDULE

Night Shift 6:00 pm - 6:30 am (2-2-3 schedule)

*Must be willing to work weekends and holidays that fall into schedule.

PAY

$25.00/hour

$1.25/hour (night shift premium)

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Receive incoming milk, and other products as needed. Maintain a clean and sanitary work area. Perform raw product load out as needed and any other duties assigned by management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive all incoming products that meet legal and company standards.
  • CIP of Tankers, Silos, and line circuits.
  • Take proper samples of incoming products for bacteria, butterfat, SNF, and inhibitory substances.
  • Perform appropriate testing for drug residues (according to the PMO, current edition), temperature checks, titratable acidity, and other testing required by company or regulatory.
  • Take proper samples to monitor CIP system for chemical strengths.
  • Monitor testing equipment. Replace supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area. The milk receiving and silo room must remain USDA inspection ready at all times.
  • Complete assigned housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Ensure that the load out of all raw products is within specification prior to load out.
  • Service pumps and valves as needed and/or per preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Perform load out in an efficient and sanitary manner.
  • Aid in the training of new personnel.
  • Report immediately to foreperson or supervisor of any damage, irregular activity, or unsafe conditions concerning the equipment.
  • Follow all safety, work, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Must work in a safe, efficient manner and follow all safety procedures including the use of safety equipment.
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot small problems and be able to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation.
  • Must be willing to ask for assistance when the process is unclear.
  • Must be able to operate the equipment effectively after the appropriate break-in period.
  • Basic computational skills required. Simple math and reasoning required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • A High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must be able to obtain a Sampler's Certificate from the State and become an Industry Analyst as defined by the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO).
