Job description

Associate will be required to check-in each truck when it arrives and then safely climb the sample tower to pull raw milk samples from trailer dome in accordance with PMO (Pasteurized Milk Ordinance) guidelines.
  • Directs arriving trucks into designated sample bays.
  • Ensures driver chocks wheels to prevent truck from moving while samples are being taken.
  • Safely climb and harness self into sample tower.
  • Positions catwalk to facilitate access to trailer dome
  • Pulls proper samples and transport them the DFA lab on site
  • Maintains cleanliness of the tower room and the yard by picking up and disposing of trash with a special emphasis on cleaning up any used tanker seals.
  • Conduct yard checks as designated, but generally 4 times per shift.
  • Complete end of shift checklist acutely within last 30 mins of designated shift.
  • Accurately complete sample log and any assigned shift reports.
  • May be assigned duties in the CIP wash bay
  • Such other duties about the trailer yard as may be assigned.
  • Always wears and used assigned PPE
  • Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor with drivers and customer representatives at all times.

Must read and write in English. High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a NMDA (New Mexico Department of Agriculture) Grade A Milk Sampler permit.
  • Ability to safely and accurately work under tight time constraints
  • Ability to communicate clearly and understand instructions received via two-way radio.
  • Strong commitment to team work and customer service.

Must have ability to safely climb stairs, ladders, and equipment footholds. Works outside in all weather conditions. Must possess ability to work nights and weekends where required. Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Job involves walking, standing and frequent climbing on and about trailers.
