Medical Assistant Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Under the direction of the clinic supervisor, the Medical Assistant will be responsible for receiving patients, preparing them for their appointments, and assisting healthcare providers in delivering exceptional care. The Medical Assistant will also play a key role in patient education, maintaining supplies and equipment, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Room Preparation: Prepare patient exam rooms and equipment using aseptic and sterile techniques to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Patient Escort and Vital Signs: Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain brief medical histories and vital signs, and update medical records for physician review.
  • Clinical Procedures: Perform immunizations, injections, venipuncture, urinalysis, and other procedures, completing necessary documentation and packaging specimens for lab analysis when required.
  • Physician Assistance: Assist physicians with patient exams and procedures, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
  • Patient Registration: Greet and register clinic patients, obtain and update registration information, and manage referrals or authorizations as necessary.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Schedule clinic appointments and ancillary tests, maintaining accurate and appropriate scheduling information.
  • Phone Call Management: Receive and route incoming clinic phone calls to the appropriate area, record accurate messages, and distribute them as needed.
