SUMMARY/SCOPE:
Reporting to the Associate Provost, theMarket Research Analyst designs and implements statistical and analyticalmodels to support the functions of the Office of Institutional Research andprovides consultative support to external offices gained from quantitative andqualitative analysis. He or she works as a member of the Institutional Researchteam to provide data and information that supports decision-making andcontinuous institutional improvement.
HSU JOB FAMILY CLASSIFICATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist to research and gather data from internal andexternal databases to survey students and others, and to analyze and assembledata in user-friendly formats.
UsingR, SQL, Business Intelligence Tools, & Microsoft Office Excel includingpivot tables, vlookups, visualizations, & power pivot/power query, theperson will develop, implement, & revise advanced statistical &analytical models to facilitate productivity, efficiency, & student bodysuccess. Organize findings for presentation to university's faculty, staff& trustees. Coordinate development of policies & procedures to supportmarketing research practices for institutions of higher education.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accreditedor a nationally recognized in business administration, market research,economics, finance, management, statistics, or related degree required; plus1 year of experience (preferred); OR, alternatively, 2 or more years' experienceas market research analyst for post-secondary educational institutions using R,SQL, Microsoft Office Excel, or similar statistical & analyticalsoftware.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This is aFull-Time, Exempt Level Staff position at the HSU campus in Abilene, TX.
A minimum of a 40-hourwork week is expected, typically Monday - Friday (8AM - 5PM). Exempt employeesmust also be able to occasionally work beyond a 40-hour work week when neededto complete projects, departmental deadlines, etc.
Must have and maintain a valid ClassC Driver's License and maintain a clear driving record to be insurable underthe university liability policy.
Must be able to drive to completework assignments on and off campus, as needed.
Additional travel may be required onoccasion in order to attend training, etc.
