Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manufacturing and Engineering
    • Continuous improvement activities for manufacturing, working with all departments out of the Houston operation
    • Strong aptitude and creativity in mechanical and equipment design. Ability to take a concept and turn it into a functional mechanical asset
    • Design and support manufacturing equipment to ensure reliability and production efficiency
    • Participate in the proto-type and production launch of new products from a manufacturing perspective
    • Review current manufacturing processes, equipment, and capabilities to determine process capabilities and resources required to run proto-types
    • Manage and support the DSC test equipment
  • Engineering Documentation
    • Design, draft and document new and existing equipment, products and processes
    • Revise and control prints and bills of materials
    • Submit bills of materials for review
    • Generate quotes for new product design
  • Budget and Capital Project Oversight
    • Review and coordinate capital project requests for departments in the US and Canadian offices
    • Track capital spending
    • Track and report capital spending relative to the operations budget quarterly
  • Facilities Support
    • Oversite of installation and leasehold improvements for all manufacturing operations
    • Document and layout manufacturing, yard operations, and offices for US and Canadian locations
    • Work with Maintenance manager and department for the upkeep of facilities and manufacturing equipment
  • Field Service and Deployment Center Support
    • Tasked with resolving operating and service issues regarding field service equipment
    • Design and document new field service equipment for product handling and installation
    • Document, create, update, and maintain improvements and upgrades to equipment
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE 

Minimum three years with hands on mechanical design.

Experience in a manufacturing and production environment with equipment is a plus.

Possess strong design for mechanical systems, equipment, and design solutions from concept to fabrication using basic engineering fundamentals.

Self-motivated and resilient in a multitasked working environment.

Ability to work through roadblocks and solve practical problems through simplicity.

Possess technical aptitude and ability to understand engineering, design and product performance issues. 

Familiar with industrial processes, particularly onshore and offshore oilfield production processes a plus.

Adequate verbal, written and analytical skills with a professional and helpful demeanor.

Computer literacy using the Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk Inventor or comparable 3D modeling software.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require local travel. Work may require extended hours, evening and weekend work.

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Civil or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited college or university.
