POSITION SUMMARY

Gotion Illinois is seeking an experienced Internal Logistics Manager to oversee warehouse operations, logistics coordination, Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) activities, and transportation scheduling in support of a rapidly growing lithium-ion battery manufacturing operation.

This role is responsible for leading a team of 10–15 employees while ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of materials throughout the facility. The successful candidate will oversee dock scheduling, inbound and outbound transportation, inventory movement, warehouse operations, and FTZ compliance while partnering closely with Production, Supply Chain, Planning, and Customs/Trade Compliance teams.

Candidates should possess strong warehouse leadership experience within battery manufacturing, energy storage, EV, automotive, solar, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead daily warehouse and logistics operations supporting battery manufacturing production.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 10–15 warehouse and logistics personnel.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound material movement to ensure uninterrupted production operations.
  • Manage receiving, storage, inventory control, shipping, and internal material distribution.
  • Coordinate dock scheduling, trailer appointments, carrier arrivals, departures, and yard activities to maximize dock utilization and minimize delays.
  • Develop and maintain daily shipping and receiving schedules while coordinating with carriers, transportation providers, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Support and maintain Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, ensuring inventory movements, documentation, and transactions comply with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate FTZ inventory records and support audits, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance activities.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting, physical inventories, audits, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Production, Planning, Quality, Procurement, and Operations teams to resolve material shortages and optimize material flow.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including inventory accuracy, dock utilization, schedule adherence, shipping performance, trailer dwell time, warehouse productivity, and material availability.
  • Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives focused on warehouse efficiency, dock operations, transportation scheduling, and material flow optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards, SOPs, warehouse procedures, and all applicable regulatory requirements.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of leadership experience within warehouse, logistics, supply chain, transportation, or material operations.
  • Experience leading teams of 10 or more employees.
  • Experience coordinating transportation schedules, dock appointments, shipping schedules, and carrier activities.
  • Experience working within a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) environment or supporting FTZ inventory controls and compliance.
  • Working knowledge of FTZ procedures, customs documentation, inventory traceability, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping & receiving, logistics coordination, transportation scheduling, and material flow.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Experience operating within high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Forklift and material handling equipment experience.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • SAP experience.
  • Experience utilizing transportation scheduling or dock scheduling software.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma experience.
  • Startup manufacturing or greenfield plant experience.
  • Experience supporting battery gigafactories or large-scale manufacturing operations.
  • Experience working with bonded warehouses, international logistics, customs compliance, or global trade operations.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.
