Job description

Locum Anesthesiologist – Waterloo, Iowa

365 Healthcare is seeking Board-Certified Anesthesiologists for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Waterloo, Iowa. This assignment offers a mix of weekday anesthesia coverage and call responsibilities within a busy surgical department supported by an established anesthesia team.

Coverage begins June 2026 and remains ongoing. Providers able to offer full-time availability are preferred, although candidates available at least two weeks per month will be considered.

Schedule

• Monday – Friday • 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM • No clinic responsibilities • Night call every 3–4 days • Weekend call coverage as needed • Full-time preferred • Minimum availability of two weeks per month accepted

Coverage Needs

• Ongoing beginning June 2026 • Long-term coverage opportunity • Required availability during Thanksgiving and Christmas coverage weeks

Practice Overview

• Hospital-based anesthesia practice • 13 operating rooms • 30–50 surgical cases daily across the department • EMR: Epic • Team of 6 Anesthesiologists and 2 CRNAs • Level III Trauma Center • Regional referral facility

Clinical Responsibilities

• Pre-operative evaluations • Intraoperative anesthesia management • Post-anesthesia patient care • Supervision of anesthesia services as needed • Participation in weekday and call coverage • Collaboration with surgical and procedural teams

Case Mix

Providers should be comfortable with:

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology • Active Iowa License or Active IMLC • ACLS Certification • Comfortable with OB anesthesia • Comfortable with pediatric anesthesia • Willingness to participate in call coverage • Clean malpractice and background history • COVID vaccination required
