Description
We are seeking an experienced RHEL 8+ Linux Systems Administrator specializing in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 or later to support and maintain secure, mission-essential, air gapped information systems. You will have a strong background in enterprise Linux administration, cybersecurity best practices, and operations within isolated or high-assurance computing environments working in our El Segundo, CA office.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, harden, and maintain RHEL 8+ systems across air gapped environments.
  • Perform system patching, repository management, and package deployment without external network connectivity.
  • Develop and maintain system baselines, documentation, and configuration standards aligned with security and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and support incident response activities.
  • Implement STIGs, CIS benchmarks, and other hardening guidelines as required.
  • Support secure configuration of system services, authentication, logging, auditing, and access controls.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity, network, and GRC teams to ensure ongoing compliance with internal and external controls.
  • Automate routine tasks using shell scripting, Ansible, or similar tooling.
  • Assist with system integration, data transfers, and cross-domain solutions in isolated environments.
  • Collaboratively work across cybersecurity, GRC, and infrastructure teams.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and a security-first mindset.

Qualifications
This is you:
  • Bachelors Degree and five (5) years or more experience or an additional 4 years of experience may be used in lieu of degree.
  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance with in-scope SSBI/T5 background investigation with the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Program accesses.
  • Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Programs and consent to a polygraph examination (as required).
  • Must have applicable DoD 8140 (formerly DoD 8570) certification (e.g. Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).
  • Must have strong documentation process experience.
  • 3+ years administering Linux systems in an enterprise setting.
  • Hands-on experience with RHEL 8 or later.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting air gapped, isolated, or high-security information systems.
  • Strong understanding of system hardening, patching, and configuration management in offline environments.
  • Proficiency with Bash or Python scripting.
  • Knowledge of SELinux, systemd, LVM, and networking fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with security compliance frameworks, STIGs, CIS benchmarks, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE).
  • Experience with Ansible or other automation/orchestration tools.
  • Background supporting systems in defense, aerospace, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMware) and container technologies (Podman, Docker, Kubernetes) in restricted environments.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
