Job Summary Loudoun County Public Library is seeking to fill one (1) full-time regular Library Courier position. (Position is 36 hours per week). This position must be able to interpret and apply rules and standards of the library to provide efficient services to internal and external customers.

Successful candidate will be responsible for driving the library's 26-foot box truck over 100 miles round trip to safely pick up and deliver books, media, and equipment to eight library branches and Library Administration. Job duties will include but are not limited to; the demonstration of good driving techniques, maintaining a valid driver's license, maintaining a working knowledge of the designated route, including city and town streets, roads, and highways, sorting book bins, distributing mail and library materials, and preparing Interlibrary Loan books for pickup. This position is also responsible for transporting furnishings, equipment for on-site and off-site library programs when needed, with minimal impact on the daily delivery schedule.

The schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday 6 am to 1:30 PM and Friday 7 am to 1 pm. Hiring salary is commensurate with experience. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience driving a 26-foot box truck is strongly preferred. Job Contingencies and Special Requirements Successful candidates will undergo background checks as required. Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records will be reviewed annually for continued qualification).
