Full-time: rotating weekends required for kennel shifts-every 3rd/4th weekend

We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. As a Veterinary Technician Assistant, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients.
 
Role Responsibilities:  
  •  Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.  
  •  With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.  
  •  Assist with surgeries and procedures.  
  •  Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns.  
  •  Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.  
  •  Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.  
  •  Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.  
  •  Be willing to support fellow team members. 
  • Assist in kennel and clinic areas with cleaning, patient medications, laundry and all other duties as deemed necessary by management. 
 
Experience & Skills Requirements:  
  •  One or more years of veterinary assistant clinical experience-highly preferred
  •  Commitment to working within a team environment 
  •  Positive, will-do attitude! 
  •  Strong communication and relationship-building skills 
  •  Proven ability to multi-task in a busy work setting 
  •  Professional demeanor and outgoing personality
