Job description

Role: Legal Assistant

Status: Perm

Location: 100% onsite - NYC

Pay Rate - $40K to $45K

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 35 hours a week

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Direct interaction with clients.
  • Ordering of medical records, interacting with firm vendors.
  • Speaks with attorneys and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
  • Drafts legal documents
  • Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provide written analysis to attorneys.
  • Develops and maintains records on specific cases.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Understanding legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters is a plus.
  • Adept at learning and using legal software.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
