Chino Valley Animal Hospital, part of the Suveto network of hospitals and located in Chino Valley, AZ is looking for an experienced full-time Kennel Assistant to join our Team!
About Chino Valley Animal Hospital:
Chino Valley Animal Hospital is a state-of-the-art veterinary facility in Chino Valley, AZ. We serve animal-lovers and their pets in our community. Our clinic is a welcoming and friendly place for pets and owners alike, filled with smiling faces and experienced, compassionate veterinary professionals. We're proud of our beautiful clinic, with its spacious waiting room and exam rooms, clean environment for optimal health and the latest in veterinary technology. We feel that this reflects our commitment to providing each pet that comes through our doors with the utmost care and attention.
Our Kennel Assistants provide daily care for our boarders and assist with kennel maintenance. Their main objective is to properly board our dogs and cats, provide a fun-filled and safe environment for the pets in our care. Additionally, this means interacting with our clients as they pick up and drop off their pets. Working with dogs is a lot of fun, but this job is extremely demanding and requires someone who understands dog behavior and has excellent dog handling skills.
Candidates must be organized, able to communicate clearly with staff and owners, work independently and have a passion for dogs of all sizes and personalities. Candidates must be knowledgeable about dog behavior and body language and able to redirect dogs that are exhibiting inappropriate behavior in a safe manner.
Essential Job Functions:
  • MONITORING all boarders indoors and in the play yard.
  • Working with a large group of dogs
  • Constantly walking and interacting with dogs
  • MAINTAINING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT!
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Keeping the facility clean and maintained
  • Record keeping, checking in and out dogs.
  • Kennel Assistants must be active and attentive at all times.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year's experience working in a dog daycare facility is preferred.
  • Must be friendly, organized and customer service driven.
  • Must have the ability to work in an extremely fast-paced work environment.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must have a passion for animal welfare.
  • Available to work during evenings, and on weekends and public holidays, if required.
