Key responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory accuracy through organization, cycle counts, and attention to detail.

  • Safely operate forklifts to load customer vehicles, delivery trucks, and company trucks.

  • Receive incoming vendor shipments by unloading, inspecting, counting, and accurately entering inventory into the management system.

Job description

Build More Than a Career. Build a Reputation.

Terrain Civil is one of Middle Tennessee's leading infrastructure supply companies, serving contractors, municipalities, builders, landscapers, and developers across the region. We don't just move materials—we help build the communities around us.

We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, notices the details others miss, and believes that doing things right the first-time matters.

This isn't an entry-level warehouse position where you're simply moving boxes. You'll play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, keeping our warehouse organized, loading customers safely and efficiently, and ensuring our operations run smoothly every day.

If you're the type of person who enjoys staying busy, takes pride in an organized warehouse, is comfortable using both forklifts and computer systems, and wants to be trusted with real responsibility, we'd like to meet you.

Schedule

Full-Time

  • Monday-Friday

  • 6:30 AM-4:00 PM

  • No weekends

Compensation & Benefits
  • Starting Salary: $52,000 annually

  • Weekly pay

  • Paid holidays

  • Paid sick leave

  • Paid Time Off (up to 3 weeks with tenure)

  • Opportunities for advancement and increased responsibility

What You'll Own

As our Warehouse & Inventory Specialist, you'll become the point person for keeping our inventory accurate, organized, and ready to serve our customers.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Safely operate forklifts to load customer vehicles, delivery trucks, and company trucks.

  • Receive incoming vendor shipments by unloading, inspecting, counting, and accurately receiving inventory into our inventory management system.

  • Maintain inventory accuracy through organization, cycle counts, and attention to detail.

  • Ensure physical inventory and system inventory remain aligned by accurately documenting receipts, transfers, adjustments, and shipments.

  • Use our inventory software to track inventory, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate records.

  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies before they become problems.

  • Pick and stage customer orders accurately and efficiently.

  • Load a wide variety of construction materials including pipe, fittings, drainage products, and bagged materials.

  • Keep the warehouse and yard clean, organized, and operating efficiently.

  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure inventory, deliveries, and customer orders are completed accurately and on time.

  • Deliver exceptional service to contractors and customers by loading materials safely and professionally.

  • Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

What Makes Someone Successful Here

We're looking for someone who:

  • Takes pride in keeping things organized and accurate.

  • Naturally notices when something doesn't look right.

  • Understands that inventory accuracy happens both in the warehouse and in the computer system.

  • Doesn't need someone looking over their shoulder to do quality work.

  • Treats company inventory as if it were their own.

  • Works with urgency without sacrificing accuracy.

  • Shows up consistently and can be counted on by the team.

  • Enjoys being physically active instead of sitting behind a desk.

  • Values teamwork and contributes to a positive work environment.

  • Takes initiative to solve problems instead of waiting to be told what to do.

Qualifications
  • Previous warehouse experience required.

  • Previous forklift experience required.

  • Experience with inventory management, cycle counting, shipping & receiving, or warehouse management systems (WMS/ERP) strongly preferred.

  • Strong computer proficiency and confidence using inventory software, email, and Microsoft Office or similar business applications.

  • Ability to accurately enter, maintain, and reconcile inventory records with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

  • Spanish speaking is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position.

You should be able to:

  • Frequently lift and carry materials weighing approximately 50 pounds, with occasional heavier items.

  • Load and unload pipe, fittings, and construction materials throughout the day.

  • Stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, and move continuously during your shift.

  • Work in a warehouse with open bay doors and outdoors in all weather conditions. While our warehouse is air-conditioned, you'll regularly work in changing temperatures while loading customers and trucks.

Why Terrain Civil?

We believe great people want more than a paycheck—they want responsibility, trust, and the opportunity to make a real impact.

If you're looking for a workplace where your work matters, your attention to detail is appreciated, and your reliability earns respect, you'll find a home here.

We're a growing, family-oriented company where hard work, accountability, and initiative are recognized. You'll have the opportunity to own an important part of our operation and contribute directly to our continued success.

We're not looking for someone to simply fill a position—we're looking for someone who wants to own it. and accurately
